What the extension handles
When you select Preview in Gmail Compose, the extension reads the subject, message body, supported formatting, and supported inline images from that open draft. It uses this information only to render the recipient preview and identify the formatting risks shown in the interface.
What the extension does not collect or share
The extension does not collect, transmit, sell, store, or share email content, account data, personal information, or usage analytics. It has no backend service, analytics SDK, advertising system, account system, remote logging, or external API integration. The developer cannot read your drafts through the extension.
Images
Network-backed images in draft HTML are replaced with a local
placeholder inside Preview, so opening Preview does not contact the
image host. Local blob: images and allowlisted raster
data: images may remain visible. Gmail may already load
or proxy images in Compose independently of this extension.
Local preferences
Chrome local extension storage contains only the selected interface language, reference device, and preview size. These preferences never include recipients, subjects, message bodies, attachments, images, or warning results. Uninstalling the extension removes its local preferences; they can also be cleared from Chrome's extension data.
Permissions
Access to https://mail.google.com/* is required to add
the Preview control to Gmail Compose and read the draft you actively
preview. The storage permission saves the three interface
preferences listed above. The extension cannot send email, access
contacts, or read mailbox history through a Gmail API.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
Gmail Recipient Preview's use of information received from Google services adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. User data is used only for the extension's disclosed preview feature. It is not sold, transferred for advertising, used to determine creditworthiness, or made available for human review by the developer.
Support and security
Report ordinary product issues through GitHub Issues. Please use the repository's private vulnerability-reporting flow for security or privacy concerns. Never include real email content, addresses, credentials, or mailbox screenshots in a public report.
